His death was confirmed by his friend Josephine “Pen” Turqueza on Sept. 1.

She told PEP, “Around 9:00 P.M. po siya inatake sa bahay namin sa Silang, Cavite. After 10 minutes, binawian na po siya ng buhay.”

Robinson was said to have succumbed to complications relating to diabetes and high blood pressure resulting in a heart attack.

Turqueza added Robinson died on the way to Carsigma Hospital in GMA, Cavite.

“May pumutok pong ugat sa ulo niya,” she said.

Turqueza extended his gratitude to Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado for sponsoring the cremation of Robinson, who is known for directing "Darna At Ding" (1980) and "Love Affair" (1980).

Prior to directing films, Robinson was known mostly as a character actor.

He would also dabble in scriptwriting before managing the career of Al Tantay, Rio Locsin, Alma Moreno, and Mark Gil.

Deborah Sun, also among Robinson's former talents, posted a throwback photo of them together on Facebook writing, "Rest in Peace my dear friend."

Robinson completed his last film “Ang Mananahi” early this year.
