It was painful for me to watch my fellow comedian Super Tekla cry on TV recently when he asked “Wowowin” host Willlie Revillame to help his son confined in the hospital.
“Hi, kuya, na-miss kita. Hello po sa mga naka-‘Tutok To Win’ and oh my God, it's nice to be back,” Tekla began.
“Noong una naging matigas pa 'yung puso ko, sabi ko, 'Hindi, kaya ko ito, mareresolba ko ito,' ayaw kong sumurrender sa Kanya. And then nu'ng na-realize ko na wala na talaga akong choice, doon na nag-breakdown na ako, sinurrender ko na lahat... 'Yung time na walang wala ka nang magagawa you have to surrender everything, sabi ko 'Tulungan mo ako, sino ang tao na makakatulong sa akin?’”
As tears fell from his eyes, Super Tekla realized he had to muster all strength and humility and just go to Willie. Looking back, the comedian said the discernment came from the Lord.
Recall that three years ago, the comedian rose to fame through Willie’s program, “Wowowin.” But one time, during a “Wowowin” taping, the production found Super Tekla sleeping on the set. When they tried waking him up, the comedian walked out and resigned from the show via Facebook post.
While Willie reminded Tekla of that incident, the former forgave the comedian.
"Gusto ko lahat kayo umasenso sa pamamaraan na gusto niyong gawin, pero wala kang nadinig sa akin even a single word... Lagi ko naman kayong iniintindi eh…Ang importante 'yung pagpapakumbaba eh. Nandito ka na, you're back, at siyempre, welcome back Tekla. "
The host added: “Huwag kang mag-alala, tutulungan kita. Ipagdasal mo na sana lumaban 'yung bata. Ganu'n talaga 'yan, nangyayari 'yan siguro para aral sa atin, baka masyado nang umaangat ang mga paa natin sa lupa, huwag kang mag-alala makakaraos 'yan.”
