Hero cop’s family receives cash assistance, scholarship grant

CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City - The family of the late Police Chief Master Sergeant Reil Morgado received P100,000 financial assistance and scholarship grant from the Civil Service Commission (CSC Caraga Region 13).

Lt. Col. Christian L. Rafols ll, chief of PRO 13 Regional Public Information Office (RPIO), on Wednesday said the command group of PRO 13 and Atty. Annabelle B. Rosell, regional director of Civil Service Commission (CSC Caraga Region 13), handed over the benefits to Mrs. Ivy Morgado, wife of the hero cop.

The program on Monday, dubbed as ‘Pamanang Lingkod Bayani’ of the CSC, paid tribute to government employees who displayed heroism by dying in the line of duty.

Aside from the cash and scholarship of the children to any member institution of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges, Mrs. Morgado also received a posthumous award/citation for her husband.

Last December 13, 2018, Chief Master Sergeant Morgado was slain when he valiantly fought against more than 10 CPP-NPA terrorists in his residence in Santiago, Agusan del Norte.
