Resigned Communications Assistant Sec. Mocha Uson went to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) headquarters in Intramuros, Manila Monday to formalize her congressional bid.

Uson said she will be running under Kasosyo Partylist, which advocates farmers' welfare.

However, she admitted that Kasosyo agreed to accommodate her as its nominee even if she would be espousing the rights of migrant workers, being a former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) herself.

"Advocacy farmers. Pero ako, dinadala ko ang adbokasiya na bigyan ng boses ang mga OFW, dahil ako naging OFW rin, bigyan sila ng kabuhayan at sariling negosyo (Kasosyo Partylist's advocacy is farmers. But personally I will carry the advocacy to give voice to OFWs, since I was once an OFW, in order to provide them livelihood and own business)," Uson told reporters.

Asked why she didn't pursue a seat in the Senate, Uson said:

"E andiyan na sila Sir Bong Go, Bato dela Rosa, Imee Marcos, Pia Cayetano. Sa Kongreso, tanggalin na Makabayan bloc, tanggalin na mga komunista na sinasabi ni Mayor Inday na terrorist sympathizers (Sir Bong Go, Bato dela Rosa, Imee Marcos, Pia Cayetano are already there. In Congress, let's abolish the Makabayan Bloc. Let's remove the Communists whom Mayor Inday has referred to as terrorist sympathizers)," she said.

She added, "kaya bubulabugin natin ang Kongreso (that's why we will shake the Congress)."

Meanwhile, the former government official did not let the chance pass to hit back anew at those who were saying she was fired by President Duterte.

As a matter of fact, she said that she had the support of the President on her decision to run.

"Sinabi naman niya na support po siya so nagpapasalamat po ako dun (He said he is supporting me so I am thankful for that)," she said.

However, Uson said there was no financial pledge from the President. She reiterated the she will be using the power of social media to boost her campaign.
