Poe tops list of senatorial bets in SWS September survey

Sen. Grace Poe topped the list of senatorial bets preferred by the respondents in the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey for September.

The SWS survey was dominated by women as Poe garnered 52 percent followed by Sen. Cynthia Villar, 46 percent; Taguig Representative Pia Cayetano, 37 percent; and Sen. Nancy Binay, 31 percent.

The leading male bet in the survey were actor and former Sen. Lito Lapid and
Sen. Koko Pimentel, both obtaining grades of 30 percent of respondents for the fifth and sixth slots.

Former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada placed seventh at 29 percent followed by Sen. Sonny Angara in 8th place at 26 percent.

Another woman Sara Duterte-Carpio, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, landed in ninth place at 24 percent.

Rounding out the 10th to 12 places are Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, former Sen. and vice presidential candidate Mar Roxas, and Sen. Bam Aquino, who all got 22 percent.

The SWS survey noted that 6 percent of respondents did not pick any name on the list.

Commissioned by Alde Joselito Pagulayan the survey was conducted on September 15-23, 2018 on 1,500 adults nationwide using face-to-face interviews.

The senatorial preferences question was incorporated in SWS' Third Quarter 2018 Social Weather Report Survey, SWS said.

The error margins for the survey are ±3 percent for national percentages, ±4 percent for Balance Luzon, and ±6 percent for Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao.
