The strong wind accompanied with heavy rainfall was filmed by a local from the Municipality of Aparri in Cagayan through the window of his house at 10 a.m.

According to Mark Espiritu Reparejo, the video uploader, other residents have already evacuated their homes while some decided to stay inside their houses since the typhoon has not yet made landfall.

The evacuees are currently staying at evacuation centers, schools, and barangay halls, Reparejo said.

Those who did not leave their residences are continuously preparing for Ompong's landfall. Some were even tying the roofs of their houses not to be blown away by the wind.

Barangay officials and local government units have already distributed relief goods to the residents since yesterday.

Reparejo shared that the officials are still repacking goods as of the moment which started two days ago. Rescuers are also roaming around the municipality to keep the people safe.

Stormy weather will continue to persist in the said area as the province of Cagayan has been recently raised under tropical cyclone signal warning number 3 alongside ten other provinces namely Northern Aurora, Isabela, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Nueva Viscaya, and Quirino, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
