Rev. Father Conegundo Garganta, Executive Secretary of CBCP- ECY said that the public, especially the youth, should participate in the elections because it is a right of every citizen in a democratic country.

"We are a Democratic Country and this is one way of enjoying our Democracy where we use our right for suffrage so it is good for young people to consider registering in preparation for the coming Election," he added.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that new voters may register until September 29, 2018 at the local Comelec offices.

The Comelec offices will be open from Monday to Saturday, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
