Director General Oscar Albayalde, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said policemen in civilian attire were among the more than 6,000 cops deployed for SONA.

“We also have intelligence and investigation officers,” said Albayalde.

While they expect the SONA to be peaceful, Albayalde said they are not discounting the possibility tat some persons or groups would infiltrate the ranks of the rallyists to create trouble.

Police and organizers of the SONA protest actions earlier met and agreed to implement measures to prevent violent clashes.
