Vice President Leni Robredo, who chairs the once-dominant Liberal Party, said nothing is final yet, but talks are ongoing regarding opposition’s senatorial ticket that may possibly include ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

The Vice President said the united opposition slate will be formed by September, a month before the filing of certificates of candidacy in October.

Robredo, a lawyer and former lawmaker, said she had talked to Sereno about her senatorial run and possibly joining the opposition slate for next year’s elections.

“Recently, we were able to talk for the first time. I told her someone nominated her name for the united opposition slate,” she said in Filipino.

The Vice President said Sereno needs more time before she makes a decision on the matter.
