The new 4Ps partners received a special mention from the Manila mayor after the oath-taking ceremony held at the San Andres Sports Complex.

“A special welcome po sa ating mga bagong parent leaders na nanumpa bilang mga Bagong Partners sa tagumpay ng 4Ps dito sa ating lungsod (A special welcome to all our new parent leaders who took their oath as new partners in the success of 4PS here in our city),” he said.

The parent leaders who are responsible for conducting family development discussions to 4Ps beneficiaries can improve the transparency in the government development program, Estrada said.

However, Estrada reminded the public that in spite of providing financial assistance and health care to its beneficiaries, 4Ps is not the solution to poverty.

“The 4Ps is the bridge that will lead the way for you to reach your destination to success. It is not the solution to your present predicament,” he said.

There are currently 47,960 4Ps household beneficiaries in Manila, a University of the Philippines report said.

Mayor Estrada assured that the city government is doing all its effort to provide decent jobs through various livelihood programs, free education and modern medical facilities.`
