The Armed Forces of the Philippines (APF) and its partner-agencies turned over P950,000 worth of construction materials to residents of Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte on Saturday, April 30, to help residents rebuild their homes after the devastayion brought by Typhoon Odette.

The SM Store continues to extend its support by distributing more than 100,000 clothes from the Share Your Extras donation drive. The team started with Surigao del Norte where Typhoon Odette made landfall, displacing thousands of families and impacting their source of livelihood.

The United States (US) has announced that it will provide an additional P17.5-million assistance to the Philippines for the recovery of areas affected by the onslaught of typhoon Odette.

Typhoon Rai (local name Odette) was the 15th storm to hit the country and was the strongest storm of 2021. It brought torrential rains, violent winds, landslides, and storm surges in the provinces of Visayas and Mindanao. Scores of people were forced to flee their homes and take shelter for safety. After the storm, residents and their families came back to their land and houses, sadly some in ruins. To help the community rebuild, a lot of individuals, organizations, and businesses pitched in to give assistance, in the true spirit of bayanihan. 

Three hundred metric tons of rice from the Japanese government were recently donated to the Philippines for families affected by typhoon Odette.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has received a monetary donation from the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines Inc. (JCCIPI) that seeks to support the relief and recovery efforts for the families affected by Typhoon Odette.

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Palawan received financial support and psychosocial interventions from the Department of Education (DepEd) Central Office through the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS).

Caritas Philippines will launch on March 2 a project called “Adopt a Family” to help families affected by typhoon Odette.

After the onslaught of Typhoon Odette in December 2021, NGCP immediately provided P27.5M-worth of assistance to local government units in Visayas and Mindanao, for distribution to affected families.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are working together for its operations in Dinagat Islands, Siargao, and Surigao Del Norte which were severely affected by Typhoon Odette, the organization said Friday, Feb. 11.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) spearheaded an inter-agency and multi-sectoral initiative to speed-up the recovery efforts and align the priorities to quickly rebuild the communities that were devastated by typhoon “Odette” in December 2021.
