It used to be that going to shopping malls and grocery stores was a delightful task. I could spend hours to complete what’s in my shopping list. I scrutinize, read the fine prints, though not all, but in some of the items, especially those new ones on display which catches my fancy. It’s one of those chores I look forward to.

It has been raining cats and dogs for over a week. What we experienced, based on an old folklore is the proverbial “siyam-siyam” or incessant rain for nine days! This prevented most of us from doing our usual chores with our laundry hamper already brimming.

The wait is over. After two weeks, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) officially announced the appointment of former USAID chief of Party-E-Peso activity Mamerto “Mert” Tangonan as its fourth deputy governor in charge of the payments and currency management sector. Under his supervision is the Security Plant Complex (SPC).

I am in agreement with the decision of Palace to defer for the time being the shift to a more flexible Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) until the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The return
I would have titled this piece “Babalik Ka Rin” but decided against it, lest that I be accused of copyright infringement. Still, this song which debuted in 1994, written and sung by Gary Valenciano, dedicated to the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) keeps ringing in my ear as I said before like a last song syndrome.
