The project is an initiative led by Mayor Fernando Gonzales and supported by the Sangguaniang Panglungsod (SP) headed by Vice Mayor Jaypee David.

David said that these service vehicles will  be used for official purposes such as disaster risk reduction (DRR) response and transporting patients.

"Fifty-five barangays po. Lahat po sila. Fifty-two L-300 service vehicles at saka tatlong dump trucks. Magagamit nila ito in any purpose sa barangay basta official use lang. Not personal use of barangay officials," David said.

Coastal barangays Tambo, Maonon, and Catburawan were the recipients of the three dump trucks.

The turnover ceremony was attended by officials of Ligao City, barangay officials, and Albay Rep. Fernando Cabredo who donated cash for the vehicles’ gasoline.

"Sa mga Punong Barangays po, alagaan po sana natin ang mga service vehicles na ito para tuloy pong makapagsilbi sa ating mga barangay," David said.
