Most wanted carnapping suspect nabbed in Rizal


A 26-year-old man wanted for carnapping was arrested in Taytay, Rizal on Thursday, April 10.

Authorities identified the suspect as “Banong,” listed as the No. 6 most wanted person in Rizal. He was apprehended by joint operatives of the Taytay Municipal Police and the Rizal Highway Patrol Group (Rizal HPG).

 

Banong was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for carnapping, with bail set at P300,000.

 

Further investigation revealed that he also had cases for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), Presidential Decree 1602 (Philippine Gambling Law), and a consummated theft case in 2019.

 

He is currently detained at the Taytay Custodial Facility and is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10883 Section 3 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016). (Vincent Brian Gutierrez)
