Uytico’s transfer was officially made this week after the release of a department order by Undersecretaries Peter Irving Corvera and Wilfredo Cabral. He served Western Visayas for more than four years.

“To the home of the champions, I may not be perfect but one thing is certain, I served your region with utmost dedication and integrity,” said Uytico in a statement.

The DepEd in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo thanked Uytico for his leadership. “You inspire us in so many ways. Your legacies will remain in our hearts. Godspeed as you lead Negros Island region,” DepEd-6 collectively said.

Uytico’s tenure in Western Visayas had received criticisms. He filed libel cases against four anchormen of a major radio network in Iloilo City.
