Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, led the  inauguration in Barangay Balabag.

As the principal author of the law that established super health centers, Go explained it is a medium-sized type poly-clinic.

With funding through the Health Facility Enhancement Program of the Department of Health (DOH), the super health center  is an extension of the services of municipal health centers.

Among the services offered are birthing, dental, vaccination, minor surgery, and  diagnostic services, including X-ray and ultrasound.

Mayor Luigi Gorriceta said that the local government unit of Pavia is dispatching one of their three municipal health officers to the  super health center.

Also present during the inauguration were Iloilo  Rep. Michael “Mike” Gorriceta, Pavia Vice Mayor Edsel Gerochi, DOH officials, representatives of the Iloilo Provincial Health Office, and Dr. Kathy Gorriceta.

A total of 27 super health centers will be built across Iloilo province.
