Local candidates in Taytay, Rizal signed a pact for a peaceful election on May 12, 2025.
In a brief ceremony held outside the Taytay Police Station, the candidates, police, and other stakeholders vowed to do their part in achieving an orderly midterm elections.
Prior to the covenant signing, the political aspirants joined the unity walk from the Taytay Commission on Election (Comelec) office to the municipal hall grounds.
Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director Col. Felipe Maraggun assured that they will secure the vicinity of the polling centers before, during, and after the election.
Prior to the unity walk, the candidates joined the candle-lighting ceremony to symbolize their unity in aiming for an orderly campaign and election.

White pigeons were also released by the participants as part of the peace covenant activity.
The covenant signing came a few days before March 28, the official start of the campaign period for the candidates aiming for local positions.
Rizal Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Arnulfo Pioquinto said the event in Taytay will also be replicated in other municipalities in the province.
