The Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) and DuckWorld PH formalized their agreement with Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) for the safe conduct of the much-anticipated revival of the legendary Tour of Luzon last March 17, 2025.

The Tour of Luzon is an annual and the most prestigious professional cycling race in the country since 1955 that was discontinued since the onset of COVID-19 pandemic.  Once considered as the toughest of such race in Asia and the ticket for Tour de France, the sporting event will be spinning along from Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte on April 24, 2025 until Baguio City on May 1, 2025.

In the official partnership rite held at the Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery (PCAS) of CSMC, officials from event organizer Duck PH and the hospital signed the Memorandum of Agreement that will ensure the health and safety of all the participants through the health expertise and facilities of the latter.

CSMC will specifically provide top-notch medical services throughout the cycling race, offering on-site emergency care, first aid stations, transport services, and immediate response teams. This agreement emphasizes the commitment of all stakeholders in ensuring the well-being of athletes, attendees, and staff during the historic event.

CSMC is a partner of choice for the event because of its range of excellent sports medicine and wellness products and services through its Sports Medicine Institute: It houses the MVP Clinic that offers the latest in the care of professional and recreational athletes- from the treatment and prevention of injuries to proper conditioning and nutrition. Along with the hospital’s Lifestyle and Wellness Center, a complete array of both effective treatment and development program packages are available for all types of patients and athletes: young or old, male or female.

“This MOA with the Cardinal Santos Medical Center is a testament to the commitment of the MVP Group in seeing the MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025 conducted properly,” Arrey Perez, participants Chief Regulatory Officer of the MPTC, said. “The intensity of this race will push to the limit, and we want to make sure everyone is properly supported and cared for.”

“We are dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for every participant, and our alliance with a trusted medical services partner enables us to respond swiftly and effectively to any health emergency,” added Patrick Gregorio, President and Chairman of DuckWorld PH.

For his part, CSMC President and Chief Executive Officer Raul C. Pagdanganan said, “This partnership enables us to apply our expertise that will not only help in responding to health and safety needs of the athletes and participants, but more so aid in the athletes’ optimal condition to compete and the staff’s active engagement in the whole course of the event, giving everybody the much needed confidence, enjoyment, peace of mind and passion and determination to excel.”
