Manila Bulletin marks its 125th year today as an institution imbued with the noble task of recording the Philippines’ history and in telling the day-to-day stories of Filipinos. We have a lot more work to do and a lot more stories to tell.

Today marks a milestone in the brand of journalism Manila Bulletin has delivered in the past decades—responsible, unbiased, accurate, and truthful. Thus, we have carried with pride the slogan “The Exponent of Philippine Progress” having been instrumental in the country’s growth and development. In the course of our long history, Manila Bulletin has transformed, evolved, and adapted to the needs of the times.

This hallmark year, Manila Bulletin’s thrust will be reinvention.

Reinvention begins with recognizing what was and anticipating what can be, while being firmly grounded on what already is. Reinvention is about looking at the past, not as a limitation, but as an affirmation of what could be the future. Reinvention is today’s work, so that everything we do will be timely, relevant, and lasting.

Reinvention is an invitation to all, not just to the hardworking men and women of the Manila Bulletin, to embrace the future and to deliver the news in the best way possible and imaginable.

The future of Philippine journalism holds a lot of promise and boundless opportunities for reinvention.

As we celebrate 125 years, we celebrate the people—our loyal readers and subscribers—for reposing their trust on the Manila Bulletin and for making us the source of their news.

Your loyalty and support have propelled us to work even harder and to reinvent ourselves for the future generations.

We look forward to reinventing the world with all of you in the next 125 years!
