House Committee on Ways and Means Chairman Albay 2nd district Rep. Joey Salceda says he is "looking forward" to working with newly-installed Department of Transportation (DOTr) secretary Vince Dizon, whom he has described as a go-getter.

"First, let me thank Jimmy Bautista for his service and his friendship. I wish him the best as he tends to his health," Salceda said in a statement Thursday, Feb. 13, referring to the erstwhile transportation chief.

"When you need a job done, you hire Vince and the job gets done. I am sure he will bury himself in the work of the DOTr immediately," said the economist-congressman.

"I am also certain of quick confirmation by the CA (Commission on Appointments). I look forward to working with him again," Salceda added of Dizon.

The Bicolano further described Dizon as a "long-time friend" whose advice he values.

"We worked together on key issues during the COVID-19 pandemic and after. I have relied on his advice for many important policy decisions. He was also an important ally as I presided over the passage in Congress of the tax reform program," he said.

Dizon is a former Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) chief.
