Government anti-narcotics agents confiscated on Wednesday, Jan. 8, around P3.4 million worth of shabu following the arrest of two suspected drug pushers during a buy-bust operation in Cotabato City.
In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that the suspects with aliases Thing and Saima, both residents of Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, were collared in Barangay Poblacion 5.
The PDEA noted that the duo were high-value targets (HVTs) operating in the Maguindanao town areas and in Cotabato City.
Aside from the more or less 500 grams of shabu concealed in a self-sealing transparent plastic sachet, the authorities also recovered the buy-bust money, two mobile phones, wallets and the identification cards (ID) of the suspects.
Both suspects, who are now detained at the BARMM Jail facility, face charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
