Meet Anker's solar umbrella

We’ve seen Anker show us a lot of cool and a few outrageous things in the past. Now, at CES, they have introduced the Solix Solar Beach Umbrella. It’s an umbrella you take with you on the beach (because of course) where it can bask in the sun, charging up to 100W. 

This rather large device can stay with you in the sun charging your phone indefinitely. 

I don’t quite know in what other way you can use this.  Perhaps, if you have a backyard and you intend to stay for most of the afternoon catching up with the latest season of Squid Game. You can take it with you when you camp in the mountains where you’re sure you won’t see anything to plug your smartphone into is a more likely scenario. 

But beyond these little details, we don’t know much more about it until Anker spills the beans later this year. But it is interesting, to say the least. It’s got some people talking.
