13 warehouses gutted in Laguna fire


SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna – Thirteen warehouses, including one used by a popular online shopping app, were gutted in an eight-hour fire in Barangay San Antonio, this city on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The Bureau of Fire Protection here reported that the fire started at 12:53 a.m. and put out at 8:15 a.m. The fire reached fourth alarm at around 3:41 a.m. 

Five families were affected by the fire in a nearby subdivision. 

Sixty-six firetrucks responded, the City Government of San Pedro FB account reported.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire and damage to property. No casualties were reported.

The City Bantay Lawa and Philippine Coast Guard have put up temporary barriers to contain an oil spill from the warehouse compound from reaching the Laguna Lake.
