Young gymnastics standout Eldrew Yulo has major plans in his budding sporting career, but nothing comes bigger than his desire to help his dad retire early.

The 17-year-old athlete shared his ambitions moments before receiving a special citation for gymnastics at the 2025 Philippine Sportswriters Association Awards Night, held at the Centennial Hall of the Manila Hotel on Monday, Jan. 27.

Even after his early success, the younger brother of Carlos Yulo expressed that what motivates him to continue pushing himself forward is the love and sacrifice shown to him by his parents, which he plans to repay by finding ways to retire his father early—possibly by starting a business venture.

Yulo remains grounded about his success, acknowledging that he continues to feel overwhelmed by the support he receives and, at times, not realizing how much there truly is.
