DigiPlus projects double-digit growth despite competition in online gaming

Tanco-led gaming firm DigiPlus Interactive Corporation expects strong double-digit growth in its registered online players this year, even with the entry of new competitors.

In an interview, DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco highlighted the company's hypergrowth over the last two years, with registered users increasing from 20 million in 2023 to over 40 million in 2024.

"It will improve (this year)... Maybe not at the rate it grew last year, but it will happen," Tanco stated, adding that expansion into Brazil in the second half of the year will also contribute to growth.

However, Tanco acknowledged that the growth rate will not be "as exponential as before" due to the larger user base and increased competition in this now-profitable industry.

Tanco's interview coincided with the official launch of the "Pusta de Peligro" Responsible Gaming campaign by DigiPlus and its social development arm, BingoPlus Foundation. The campaign premiered three short films highlighting the company's commitment to responsible gaming through prevention, education, and intervention.

The "Pusta de Peligro" campaign uses relatable scenarios to encourage players to recognize the risks associated with excessive gaming and promotes responsible gaming habits. The campaign slogan translates to "When the bet is dangerous, pause for a while, because gaming should just be fun."

DigiPlus has integrated self-exclusion features into its platforms, empowering players to manage their gaming habits. These tools include options to set daily gaming durations, customize gaming schedules, and establish daily loss limits.

"We hope this campaign will spark a national conversation about responsible gaming," Tanco emphasized. "We want players to feel empowered to make wise choices, families to feel reassured, and communities to see gaming as a safe form of entertainment."

He added, "Responsible gaming is the foundation of a sustainable gaming industry. With 'Pusta de Peligro,' we're proving that advocacy and innovation can go hand in hand to create a safer, more enjoyable gaming environment for all.”
