Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a mother and her son after they yielded around P170 million worth of shabu at the Cebu City port on Thursday, Jan. 23.
The illegal drugs were discovered during the K9 Inspection at the Cebu City Pier 4 on the car of the 63-year old woman and her 41-year old son.
During the inspection, authorities discovered 25 packs of alleged shabu, each weighing more or less one kilogram.
The PDEA 7 Regional Office laboratory chemists conducted an on-site screening test on the recovered substances, which yielded positive results for the presence of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.
However, confirmatory tests will still be done for proper disposition.
The illegal drugs and the car were seized and will be used as pieces of evidence in the filing of charges against them.
