4 wanted NPA rebels nabbed in Caraga


CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police arrested four New People’s Army rebels wanted for murder, frustrated murder, and arson in the Caraga region.

The Police Regional Office-13 identified the suspects as Seren, 36; Cher, 28; Mak, 23, and Bab.

Seren, squad leader of the dismantled Guerilla Front 88 of the Communist Party of the Philippines-NPA North Central Mindanao Regional Committee, was wanted for murder and had warrants of arrest for murder issued by the Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur Regional Trial Court Branch 7 dated Nov. 19, 2020.

Cher, member of the GF 30, NCMRC, was apprehended for eight counts of murder, two for arson, three for attempted murder, and two for frustrated murder. Arrest warrants were issued by the Cantilan, Surigao del Sur RTC Branch 41.

Mak of the Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda 16-B of the dismantled GF-16 of the NEMRC and wanted for two counts of murder and attempted murder was caught on a warrant issued by the Surigao City, RTC Branch 32 in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

Bab faces two counts of murder, two counts of frustrated murder, and three counts of attempted murder.

PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano commended arresting units for their achievements.

“The PRO-13 remains steadfast in its aggressive campaign against the remaining communist terrorists in an objective to make Caraga a peaceful region in Mindanao,” Abrahano said.  

“All the arrested suspects are now in their respective arresting police units for proper disposition before turning over to respective courts in the region,” PRO-13 Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.
