Cloudy skies with isolated rains are expected in parts of Luzon on Saturday, Jan. 18, due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the shear line is currently affecting the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.
The “amihan,” on the other hand, will influence Northern Luzon and the rest of Central Luzon.
PAGASA noted that the shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to Isabela, Aurora, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will cause cloudy skies with light rains in Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
The “amihan” will also result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon, PAGASA added.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected in the rest of the country due to the easterlies.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to occasionally heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
