40 wanted persons nabbed in Caraga


CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police arrested 40 wanted persons, including two Regional Top Most Wanted Persons, in manhunt operations in the Caraga region from Jan. 1 to 15.

Among those arrested was Bab, 45, in Lianga, Surigao del Sur.

He was listed as the Regional Top 1 MWP, with  warrants of arrest for two counts of murder, two counts of frustrated murder, and three counts of attempted murder.

PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said Bab was allegedly a former member of the Guerilla Front 19-A, Sub-Regional Committee Southland, CPP-NPA Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee, operating in Surigao del Sur.

Also in the list was alias Carl, 75, who was apprehended in Bacuag, Surigao del Norte. He was listed as the Regional Top 4 MWP for rape. No bail was recommended for the suspect.

Suspects were placed under the custody of arresting units pending the issuance of commitment orders from the courts.

PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano lauded  operating units for their arrest.

“We attribute the success of these law enforcement operations to the continued support and cooperation of the community,” he said.

He  said their arrest is proof of their determination to maintain peace and order in Caraga and render justice to victims.

“Rest assured that we remain steadfast in ensuring that wanted individuals are brought to justice,” Abrahano added.
