Three young siblings died in a fire that broke out at a residential area in Sta. Mesa, Manila, on Tuesday, January 14.
The victims, all girls, who were seven, nine, and 16 years old, were trapped in the second floor of their house along Guadalcanal Street in Barangay 597 when the fire started at 5:17 p.m.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said firefighters managed to put out the fire at 5:58 p.m.
The mother of the victims, who had been working as a vendor, said she was still outside the house when the fire broke out.
The damage from the fire was estimated to be around P30,000.
The BFP is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
