These were M16 and M14 rifles, AK-47s, Garand and carbine rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers, and a pistol.

PRO-11 chief Police Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Z. Rosete said these weapons were recovered, surrendered, or turned over and deemed unfit for use.

“These firearms were once used to spread fear and violence. Their destruction sends a strong message of our efforts to end crime and build lasting peace,” Rosete said.

Officials from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, National Police Commission, and Armed Forces of the Philippines witnessed the event in a show of inter-agency support for peace initiatives.

Rosete said the ceremony aligns with the Philippine National Police’s push to reduce violence and reflects the goals of PNP chief Police Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil.

The PRO-11 chief assured that they remain focused on ensuring peaceful, honest, and orderly polls.
