Provincial Agriculturist Dina Genzola told Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson on Monday, April 21, that agricultural damage worth P952,196.71 affected four barangays in La Carlota City.

A total of 48 farmers tilling 34.76 hectares of high value crops in barangays of Haguimit, Ara-al, Cubay, and La Granja were affected by the ashfall in the eruption.

More than 1,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) remain in evacuation centers in La Carlota City since the Dec. 9, 2024 eruption.

Lacson said the provincial government will resume its fourth month of providing meals to the evacuees through its community kitchens on April 24, using P50 million given by the national government for Kanlaon response.

He said that they are awaiting additional funds from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) to Kanlaon-affected local government units (LGUs) in the province.
