Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co has joined of the chorus of those praising the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the arrest of three suspects linked to the kidnapping and murder of Filipino-Chinese businessman Anson Que and his driver, Armanie Pabillo.

“This is swift, coordinated, and effective police work,” Co, Party-list Coalition Foundation, Inc. (PCFI) president, said in a statement Sunday, April 20.

“Criminals must understand they cannot escape the long arm of the law,” he noted.

Co commended PNP Chief General Rommel Marbil and the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) for their decisive action, which he said brought justice closer for the grieving families.

The Bicolano also recognized the broader effort of the PNP, and said that their dedication and professionalism boost public trust in law enforcement.

Que--also known as Anson Tan--and Pabillo were last seen on March 29 after departing Elison Steel’s office in Valenzuela City. Their bodies were found on April 9, dumped along a roadside in Barangay Macabud, Rodriguez, Rizal.

Two of the suspects, Ricardo David and Raymart Catequista, were arrested in Palawan. The third, David Tan Liao, surrendered to the PNP-AKG.

“Our thoughts are with the families of Mr. Tan and Mr. Pabillo. May this development bring them some comfort," Co said of the suspects' arrests.

The PCFI boss said the case showed the PNP’s strong resolve to protect peace and order in the country.
