Samsung will roll out One UI 7 this April

Samsung users who have been waiting for the rollout of the new update, wait no longer, as One UI 7 will coming out within this April.

The One UI 7 is designed with AI in mind, to make the interaction between user and Galaxy devices seamless.

One UI 7 will be available on the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. The rollout will gradually continue to other Galaxy devices, tablets included.

The home screen is further simplified and provides more lock screen customizations. Included is the Now Bar, which is just a new way to receive notifications.

Samsung is making more use of their Edge Panel by adding the AI Select. Samsung provides an example on how to use this feature, such as creating GIFs from a video. There is also a Writing Assist, to summarize content.

Samsung adds what is called Drawing Assist, which is an odd name, since no one does actual drawing, but rather it is an image generation tool where users type in a prompt to generate an image. If you will argue that you can draw on top of the generated image, then wouldn't be editing? Whatever.

Another tool called Audio Eraser, as how Samsung puts it is for advanced editing by isolating categories of sounds and removing unwanted noise in videos. So, basically, noise suppression and a noise gate, but without tinkering with all the filters, and is all built-in, which is actually very cool.

Of course, deeper Gemini integration, so you can just bring out the app and ask if questions and get recommendations is easier. Nothing on being able to help you navigate in real-time yet but that is something that would be very interesting.

So, be sure to check your Galaxy devices for whenever the update starts rolling out.
