Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidate Manny Pacquiao has touted the endorsement of One Cebu, the most influential political party in the province that has an impressive 3.7 million registered voters.
One Cebu's decision to support Pacquiao’s return to the Senate is seen to boost his grassroots momentum as he campaigns on a platform focused on inclusive development, especially in rural health care, free housing, and livelihood programs for the underprivileged.
The vaunted local party is headed by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.
“Walang maiiwan sa serbisyo (Nobody will be left out when it comes to service). We will bring health services closer to the people, especially those in remote barangays who are often neglected,” Pacquiao, and boxing icon, said.
He has also vowed to prioritize the enhancement of barangay clinics and the revival of Botika ng Barangay programs, which is aimed at ensuring freeand accessible medicine for the poor especially in the countryside.
The administration bet also pledged to push for increased government investment in medical infrastructure, again for the benefit of people in far-flung communities.
Pacquiao’s bailiwick is Mindanao, being a native of General Santos City. With One Cebu's support, the boxer-turned-politician is also expect to have a solid voter base in the Visayas.
