DPWH: Lagnas Bridge in Quezon opens April 11


SARIAYA, Quezon – The Department of Public Works and Highways-Region 4-A announced that the Lagnas Bridge, also known as Mahabang Tulay in Barangay Sampaloc 2, this town, will be open to all types of vehicles on Friday, April 11.

DPWH Region 4-A Director Jovel Mendoza said a thorough inspection showed that the bridge's structure remains stable, allowing heavy vehicles to pass through. 

Work is still ongoing on Piers No. 1 and No. 2 of the bridge, but the DPWH assured that the stability of the structure and the prompt completion of the restoration project are still a priority.

The DPWH thanked the public for their continued cooperation and understanding as it implements necessary measures for the safety of motorists.

Meanwhile, construction for the P23-million, three-story Regional Finance Unit building at the Police Regional Office 4-A headquarters in Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, Laguna started with the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, April 8.

The facility will enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness of the financial management systems of the PRO 4-A.

The event was led by DPWH Region 4-A Director Jovel Mendoza, DPWH Region 4-A officer-in-charge Maintenance Division chief Michael Jeffrey C. Jamias, Police Col. Melvin N. Napiloy, deputy regional director for administration, representing PRO 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, and regional chief of staff Police Col. Meliton Salvadora Jr.
