NYC’s Smith & Wollensky to open first Philippine location in BGC


Luxury steakhouse chain Smith & Wollensky is expanding its international presence with a planned opening in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig, this year.

The renowned New York City-based restaurant, famed for its USDA Prime dry-aged steaks, will debut its first Philippine location at the Finance Center in BGC, Taguig City.

Although the exact opening date is undisclosed, the company's website revealed the new restaurant will offer a full dining experience, including private dining rooms accommodating groups of up to 50 guests.

“We will serve a full and late-night menu along with artisanal cocktails, spirits and fine wines, set against a backdrop of sophisticated live jazz music,” Smith & Wollensky stated.

Founded in 1977, Smith & Wollensky has established a strong brand presence in key international markets outside the US, including London, Taipei, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, and Seoul.

The BGC location will join the growing portfolio of upscale restaurants in the country, such as Wolfgang's Steakhouse, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill and Morton’s The Steakhouse.

The original New York City restaurant has also gained cultural recognition through appearances in films like "American Psycho" and "The Devil Wears Prada."
