3 men, minor arrested for vandalism in Taytay

Authorities strongly reminded residents about the anti-vandalism ordinance after police arrested three men and a minor caught vandalizing in Taytay, Rizal, early Wednesday, March 12.

The Taytay Municipal Police Station (Taytay MPS) first arrested two men caught vandalizing the concrete fence of Montevista Heights in Barangay Dolores using paint and brushes during a patrol led by Chief of Operations Lt. Marlon Maiso.

As officers were informing them of their rights, a concerned citizen reported that two more individuals were vandalizing a nearby commercial store.

They immediately responded and caught the two others spraying paint on the store’s roof. They were also arrested and informed of their rights.

Confiscated from them were ten cans of assorted Pylox spray paint, two cans of white Solo latex paint, and one paint roller.

Authorities said the three men will face charges for violating Article 287 of the Revised Penal Code (Unjust Vexation) and Malicious Mischief under Municipal Ordinance No. 789, series of 2023 also known as the Taytay Anti-Vandalism Ordinance.

Meanwhile, the arrested minor was referred to the Taytay Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) as a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL).

Taytay police, led by Lt. Col. Marlo N. Solero, urged the public to report vandalism, assuring strict enforcement of municipal ordinances. For reports, residents may call 0917-163-3556 or 0998-598-5730.
