The Lady Altas overcame a huge scare in the fourth set as the Lady Chiefs tried to force an extension after tying the match at 24-all, but Jemalyn Menor and Winnie Bedaña delivered back-to-back kills to seal the deal.
In another fine showing, Perpetual pumped in 59 kills, bettering Arellano’s 42.
Menor led the way for the Las Piñas-based squad with a career-high 19 points while Shaila Omipon, Bedanna and Pauline Reyes backed her up with 13 points each.
Marriane Padillon was the lone double-digit contributor for Arellano with 10 points.
Fianne Ariola also impressed with 23 excellent sets while libero Marian Andal essayed 16 excellent receptions for Perpetual.
Perpetual now holds a 4-0 card while Arellano fell to a 2-2 hole.
They are currently at the top of the standings, ahead of four-peat hopeful College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers.
Up next for the Lady Altas are the Lyceum Lady Pirates while Arellano tackles Mapua in its next contest.
