Police Lt. Col. Anthony Grande, Himamaylan police chief, identified the victims as Jinward, his brother Edwin, and Jinward’s co-worker Danny.
Grande said that Jinward, with Edwin as back rider, and Danny were on their way to this city when the dump truck on the opposite lane overtook two sports utility vehicles and crashed into the two motorcycles.
The 47-year-old truck driver from Isabela, Negros Occidental, swerved his vehicle to the left and dragged the victims before falling into a sugarcane field.
Two victims were sprawled on the road and the third was pinned by the truck. They were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.
Grande said the truck driver’s employer has extended burial assistance to the families of the victims.
Both parties have yet to discuss if charges will be filed against the truck driver who is now under police custody.
