The Parañaque Traffic Parking and Management Office (TPMO) announced that several streets in Barangay San Dionisio will be closed to traffic for the holding of the grand Sunduan Festival, the city’s romantic tradition.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the TPMO will implement temporary road closure today, Feb. 15, along Quirino Avenue, Tata Dune, P. Burgos St., N. T. Garcia St., A. Bonifacio St., Irasan St., Tramo, and M. H. Del Pilar in Barangay San Dionisio.
Olivarez said the temporary road closure will take effect at 3:00 p.m. onwards.
He said the festival is part of the activities prepared by the city government for the 27th Parañaque Cityhood Anniversary on Feb. 13.
“Sunduan” is a romantic tradition of Parañaque in which a gentleman fetches his lady love at home to bring her to the church or town plaza.
Olivarez said heavy traffic around the area is expected while the activity is being conducted.
He also advised motorists to look for an alternate route in going to their destinations.
