BPI will remove the “load e-wallet” feature for both GCash and Maya in the BPI app.   This will take effect tomorrow, February 13.

Users of the BPI app can still send funds to their respective e-wallets via “transfer to other banks” and choose between G-Xchange/Gcash  or Maya with a fee of P25.

GCash users will be able to link their BPI accounts and cash in with a fee of P5.

No further details were mentioned as to why BPI is pulling out the load e-wallet feature.

BPI, however, also has an ewallet of their own called Vybe, which also allows contactless and QR payments.
