CEBU CITY – Illegal drugs worth P13.5 million were seized in a three-day police operation in Central Visayas.

The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) reported that the Jan. 27 to 29 operation resulted in the confiscation of 1.9 kilos of suspected shabu and 25 grams of marijuana.
The series of police operations also led to the arrest of 595 drug suspects. The PRO-7 added 225 individuals were caught in 132 anti-illegal gambling operations.
In the campaign against loose firearms, 101 unlicensed guns and two explosives were seized and 27 persons were arrested. A total of 133 wanted persons, 19 of them were most wanted, were nabbed.
Police Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, chief of PRO-7, said the series of police operations was part of the proactive initiatives they units are taking to maintain peace in the region. “Our goal is to transform PRO-7 into a regional office that the Central Visayas community can trust, respect, and depend upon – where every citizen feels protected and valued,” said Maranan.
