The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is investigating an incident involving a private college in Quezon City for allegedly conducting an off-campus activity without the necessary approvals and documentation.
“The CHED Commission En Banc has discussed the matter, and a show-cause order will be issued against Bestlink College for conducting the off-campus activity without submitting the required documents to CHEDRO-NCR [Commission on Higher Education Regional Office - National Capital Region],” CHED Chairman Popoy De Vera told reporters in a Viber message on Jan. 27.
Students shared on social media that they encountered issues such as “disorganized, overheated, or unavailable transportation, lack of accommodation, and extreme exhaustion” during the off-campus founding anniversary celebration.
On social media, posts from students indicated that they experienced severe logistical problems during the Jan. 26 event. Many were reportedly stranded for hours without transportation back to Manila.
