LOOK: Robina Gokongwei-Pe pokes fun at old snake rumor

Robina Gokongwei-Pe, director of Robinsons Land, sparked online interest by posting a playful photo of herself adorned with snake decorations at the Robinsons Department Store.

In her Facebook post on Monday, Jan. 27, Gokongwei-Pe humorously referred to a long-standing urban legend from the 90s about her supposed half-man, half-snake twin said to be hiding in the store's fitting rooms, calling it her "shining, shimmering golden twin."

This playful reference comes decades after Gokongwei-Pe publicly denied the rumors in a 1991 interview, where she expressed frustration over the myth.

At that time, she even jokingly offered a reward for anyone who could find the elusive creature.

The legend was further revived in 2018 when Robinsons Galleria promoted its renovations with a commercial featuring actress Alice Dixson, who was humorously portrayed as one of the snake's victims.

Like Gokongwei-Pe, Dixson has also denied the existence of the mythical creature.
