The local government of Manila announced the temporary closure of roads starting on Tuesday, Jan. 28, in preparation for the Chinese New Year festivities.
The Manila Police District said the roads will be closed starting at 9 p.m. and re-routing instructions are as follows:
Road Closures:
- A stretch of Q. Paredes from P. Burgos Avenue to Dasmarinas Street
- Jones Bridge
- Plaza Cervantes
- Binondo-Intramuros Bridge
Re-Routing of Vehicles:
For vehicles coming from Reina Regente St. intending to use the southbound lane of Jones Bridge:
- Turn left to Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz
- Turn right to Noberto Ty St.
- Turn right to Yuchengco St.
- Turn left to Ongpin St. to your destination
For vehicles coming from P. Burgos Ave./Taft Ave. intending to use Jones Bridge:
- Proceed straight to McArthur Bridge or Quezon Bridge to your destination
For vehicles coming from Plaza Sta. Cruz utilizing Dasmariñas St.:
- Turn right to Q. Paredes St. to your destination
For vehicles coming from Magallanes Drive going to Binondo-Intramuros Bridge:
- Proceed straight to A. Soriano Ave. to Anda Circle to your destination
For vehicles coming from Muelle dela Industria going to Binondo-Intramuros Bridge:
- Take Madrid St., turn right to San Fernando St.
- Go to Plaza San Ruiz, turn left to Q. Paredes St.
- Turn right to Noberto Ty St., turn right to Yuchengco St.
- Turn left to Ongpin St. to your destination
The opening and closing of affected roads will depend on the actual traffic situation.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips in advance and follow the alternative routes to avoid delays.
