100 indigent Baguio residents benefit from Spring Festival gift-giving activity


BAGUIO CITY – Some 100 indigent residents benefited from a gift-giving activity of the Filipino-Chinese community for the Spring Festival 2025 in this city on Friday, Jan. 24.

Businessman Peter Ng, head of the executive committee of the Spring Festival celebration, said that 50 individuals from Barangay Quezon Hill Proper and 50 from Barangay Middle Quezon Hill were the beneficiaries of a bag of groceries each.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Councilor Jose Molintas and City Social Welfare and Development  Officer Liza Bulayungan graced the activity.

"We have been doing this traditionally in the city of Baguio for 27 years now," Ng disclosed.

The Filipino-Chinese community here is composed of nine associations that seek to further strengthen the relationship between the Chinese and Filipinos people,   support city programs, and help the community.

Spring Festival activities here are in full swing, with the grand parade on Jan. 30 and Little Chinatown display on Jan. 26.
