The Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) operatives identified the suspect as “Piko,” 30, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 17, for allegedly shooting a minor during the incident.

According to the police report, the victim was with four friends “B,” 17; “C,” 19; “D,” 16; and “E,” 13, — when “Piko” arrived at the area accompanied by two other individuals.

Piko allegedly drew a gun and aimed it at "B," firing twice but missing his target.

As the group fled in fear, the victim, "A," was struck in the left buttock.

The suspects then escaped towards Barangay Parada.

The victim and along with his friends sought help from Barangay Karuhatan rescue personnel, who rushed “A” to Valenzuela Medical Center for treatment.

The incident was reported to Police Substation-9 in Barangay Karuhatan, which coordinated with substation-2 in Barangay Gen. T. De Leon to an immediate response.

VCPS chief Col. Nixon Cayaban organized an investigation team comprising members of the Detective Management Unit (DMU), Station Investigation Unit (SIU), Substation-2, and SWAT personnel to locate and arrest the suspectes.

Piko was arrested and positively identified by the victim and his companions in a follow-up operation.

The investigation revealed that Piko and the intended target, "B," had a previous disagreement in December 2024, during which Piko allegedly threatened to take revenge.

Authorities were still searching for the firearm used in the crime and the suspect’s two accomplices.

Piko will face charges for frustrated murder and attempted murder, police said.
