CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Police seized shabu and marijuana valued at P38.8 million in Northern Mindanao in 100 days.
Police Regional Office 10-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Joann N. Navarro said 842 individuals were apprehended in 683 anti-illegal drug operations from Sept. 26, 2024 to Jan. 4, 2025. “All these arrested individuals are now facing charges in different courts in the region,” Navarro said.
Nine-hundred eighty-five wanted persons were caught – 170 most wanted persons and 815 other wanted persons.
In the campaign against loose firearms under the Kontra Boga program, police conducted 151 operations, resulting in the arrest of 68 individuals and the recovery of 241 small arms and three light weapons.
Lawmen visited 4,416 houses under the Revitalized Katok program, resulting in the voluntary surrender of 146 firearms for safekeeping.
Forty-four anti-smuggling operations were conducted, where 53 suspected smugglers were nabbed and smuggled cigarettes valued at P58.6 million were recovered.
In the campaign against illegal mining, 22 operations were conducted, 64 illegal miners were arrested, and P18 million in illegal mining paraphernalia were seized.
PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen C. de Guzman lauded operating units for their achievements and commitment to public safety.
Navarro urged the public to remain vigilant and report any illegal activities to authorities.
