Man wanted for murder, carnappings caught using drugs near police station


A man allegedly involved in a series of carnappings and a murder case was arrested being caught using illegar drugs near police station in Manila.

The suspect, identified as alias "Ismael," was apprehended while reportedly using illegal drugs just a few meters away from a police station.

According to MPD Baseco Police Station, they conducted an operation at a house where the suspect had been hiding. 

Along with the suspect, another man was also arrested, who was believed to be an accomplice involved in drug use.

Police disclosed that the suspect and his associates were responsible for the carnapping of a sedan and a toktok, which were owned by the chairman of Baseco. 

It was reported that the suspect was involved in a murder last year before going into hiding on Delpan Street.

During the operation, authorities seized two revolvers, several sachets of shabu, a knife, and a car key.

The arrested suspects will remain in the custody of the Baseco Police Station while awaiting a commitment order from the court. 

MPD said the suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, the Omnibus Election Code, and the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
